O'Grady left NYPD Blue to star in various television shows for Lifetime and other networks. This includes The Three Lives of Karen (1997) and Two Voices (1997). [6] Her big screen credits include Celtic Pride (1996), That Old Feeling (1997), Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo (1999) and Walking Across Egypt (1999).From 2002 to 2005, O'Grady starred as Helen Pryor in the NBC TV series American Dreams which portrayed an all-American family in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, during the 1960s. After three seasons, the series was pulled. O'Grady was the lead actress in ABC's comedy show Hot Properties in Fall 2005. The show was pulled after just 13 episodes. In 2006, she starred as a guest in Two and a Half Men and in 2007 she featured in a recurring role in Boston Legal as Gloria Weldon as a judge in a personal relationship with lawyer Alan Shore. In 2007 she was a part of the Hallmark Channel movie All I Want for Christmas.O'Grady played a regular role in the short-lived CW series Hidden Palms as Karen Hardy in 2007, as well as on Hellcats, playing Wanda Perkins, the mother of the main character from 2010 until 2011. as Anne Schilling, an actress who is involved in an affair with Porter Scavo, O'Grady starred in ABC's Desperate housewives in 2008 as a regular character.
