Lowell started acting in Dangerously Close, followed by an appearance in Club Paradise, starring as Robin Williams.  O'Grady left NYPD Blue to star in various television shows for Lifetime and other networks. This includes The Three Lives of Karen (1997) and Two Voices (1997). [6] Her big screen credits include Celtic Pride (1996), That Old Feeling (1997), Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo (1999) and Walking Across Egypt (1999).From 2002 to 2005, O'Grady starred as Helen Pryor in the NBC TV series American Dreams which portrayed an all-American family in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, during the 1960s. After three seasons, the series was pulled. O'Grady was the lead actress in ABC's comedy show Hot Properties in Fall 2005. The show was pulled after just 13 episodes. Her name was noted for her performance in the role of Carmen Lopez in ABC's sitcom George Lopez. This role earned her two Young Artist Awards, one for the most outstanding Young Actress in Comedy or Drama.
